Folds in structural geology are features created by the deformation of rock due to compressive stress. This definition is what inspired the visual exploration of the relationship between the sandstone boulders, set in the Fontainebleau Forrest, and the female body, when compressive stress is applied in a similar manner.
The stand alone boulders are shot from wide to show their form in entirety whereas the female body is shown mostly as unrecognizable surreal details.
FOLD, is built up of 32 plates taken in 2023 between Fountainebleau, France and London, UK. Handprinted by the artist on fibre based paper, scanned and re printed on Symbol Tatami Ivory 135gsm.
